Greetings Everyone!  Ever been to Alaska?  If you have, than you know what I’m talking about when I say that Alaska is filled with adventure.  A perfect place for explorers.  I am so lucky to have been able to explore this vast expanse of land.

The first day in Alaska, my family and I explored Anchorage.  We visited a market right near the water and prepared for an adventure of a lifetime!  The next day, we woke up while the stars were still in the sky to board a train.  The four hour trek was filled with beautiful scenery.  A cotton candy sunrise over the water.  Majestic glaciers.  Not bad for a first time train rider!  After we got to Seward, a ferry was waiting for us to take us to Fox Island.  During this boat ride, a sea otter was seen playing in the water!  So cute!

Fox Island was an absolute dream.  I mean seriously, it may just be one of the most beautiful places on Earth!  Here, we spent two days.  We relaxed by taking cooking classes and walking along the rocky beach.  After this relaxing time, I prepared to go on a sea-kayaking adventure.  I mean, who knew I could steer a kayak in the rough Gulf of Alaska?  In all honesty, I probably would have the toppled the entire kayak over if it weren’t for my mom (thanks mom!).  This kayaking adventure was definitely my favorite  on the trip!  On the last day of our stay on Fox Island, a whale visited us!

The last day was spent in Seward where we ziplined in a temperate rainforest (that’s right, a rainforest in Alaska).  We also got to meet an Iditarod champion’s team of huskies!  They were all so beautiful, and I wanted to take them all home with me 🙂

I am so excited what’s to come with this blog!  Have an amazing day!

grateful, maya
